2014 Ebola Outbreak
The 2014 outbreak of Ebola hemorrhagic fever (EHF) in West Africa is the worst ever for this disease. As of August 1, 2014, there are a combined 1323 suspected cases of the Ebola viral disease (EVD) West Africa with 909 of these cases being laboratory-confirmed (CDC, 2014). Currently, the death toll is at 729 deaths (case-fatality: 80.2%).
